Role Overview 
Care staff are responsible for providing a safe, healthy, and loving environment to preschool children. Staff should agree with The Cross  church’s faith statement and be committed to the spiritual development of children in a Christian environment through the regular and ongoing programming provided by The Cross Church children’s ministry, contributing to the high-performance culture and mission to Spread God’s Fame by Making Disciples of all People. This position reports to the Preschool Ministry Director and/or the Early Learning Academy Director. 

Job Classification 
Part-time, less than 20 hours per week. Non-exempt. 

Schedule* 
Preschool Ministry :
➢ Monday morning 
➢ Wednesday evening 
➢ Saturday evening 
➢ Sunday morning 

Early Learning Academy:
➢ Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9 am - 2 pm 
➢ September - May 

*The schedule for this position will vary for required training, special events, holidays and summers 
depending upon your assignment and availability. 

Responsibilities and Expectations 
• Help each child develop a healthy perception of God and His love for them. 
• Help each child appreciate God’s creation and recognize His hand in all things. 
• Be prepared to execute daily lesson plans.• Foster an environment where children increase in levels of independence and are nurtured socially and emotionally. 
• Provide prompt and professional care to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of children. 
• Be sensitive to the varied developmental levels of the children. 
• Report any problems or concerns to the Care Coordinator. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications, Experience and Critical Skills 
• Agreement with The Cross Church’s faith statement and mission to spread His fame by making disciples of all people.” 
• Committed to biblical Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. 
• Established pattern of Bible study and prayer. 
• Membership and regular attendance of The Cross Church. 
• The ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly, both orally and in written form. 
• Love children and model Christ to them. 
• Ability to encourage children’s positive behaviors and remain calm, friendly and respectful when addressing inappropriate behaviors. 
• Pray for preschoolers and their families. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills. 
• Self-Motivated. 
• Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality. 
• Ability to work well with staff, church members, and the community. 
• The ability to speak, read and write English. 
• The ability to handle moderate stress levels. 
• Sufficient good health to discharge duties properly. 
• Passing criminal, financial, and sexual misconduct background checks.Conclusion
